The Perfect African Field Knife
Hi folks, welcome to our lodge in Africa. I just wanted to do a quick video on what I consider to be the perfect African field knife.
My Morning Routine & The Gifted Knife
I try to get up early every morning and go hiking with the dogs—unless I have a client to take hunting. This morning, I was out hiking, and I had my .577 cartridge belt with me.
Jeff Hoover was just here—he’s a well-known gun writer and an experienced hunter. He took a lot of game on this trip, including a massive buffalo. Before he left, he gifted me this John Snow knife, and it’s rare that someone gives me a gift that is absolutely perfect—I have weird taste in knives and guns.
Why This Knife is Perfect for the Field
Blade: About a 4 to 4.25-inch drop point blade.
Handle: Ivory handles for a solid, comfortable grip.
Spine: Heavy-duty spine—strong enough that it would be hard to break.
Versatility: Ideal for field dressing game or any other tasks I might need to do.
I don’t really need a knife this expensive—I’ve been perfectly happy with Cold Steel knives all my life. But now that I have this one, I’ll definitely be using it.
Just wanted to share my idea of the perfect field knife—4- to 5-inch drop point, heavy-duty, and built to last.
God bless, have a great day, and thanks for tuning in!
